A Royal Balinese Ritual
The Royal Balinese Beauty Ritual originates from Indonesia and was given to Princesses each day for 40 days prior to their wedding day with the aim of:-
- Beautify and softening the skin
- Nourishing, rejuvenatinng and cleansingthe skin’s outer layer
- Removing impurities
- Enhancing lymphatic flow and blood circulation
The Ritual begins with a deep, full body Balinese-style massage with a combination of pressure point movements and gentle stroking using our Balinese Massage Oil blend.
The body is then exfoliated using our traditional Mangir Scrub. This 400 year old Tribal recipe gently exfoliates the skin using finely ground rice, glutinous rice, Masoyi Bark, Sintok Bark, Sandalwood Powder, Vetiver Root, Cinnamon and Turmeric to produce a warming effect on the skin.
For a more Traditional Treatment, Lulur Scrub may be used. This contains a more course rive grain which gives a stronger exfoliation, perfect for the body. Lulur is rich in warming herbs and spices including Turmeric, Masoyi Bark, Sandalwood Powder, Temuguring Powder, Fennel and Vetiver Root, which help stimulate blood circulation and promote a healthier complexion. Turmeric, a natural astringent, purifies the skin while leaving a golden glow. (Lulur Scrub is Turmeric yellow in colour and care should be taken when removing from the body to avoid staining of linen).
Both Scrubs are easily blended with water, aloe vera gel, sweet almond oil, yoghurt or unscented moisturizer. For a more traditional Treatment coconut cream may be used. Following exfoliation, a Balinese Boreh Wrap containing Kencur, Babakan Cacil, Clove, Ginger and Nutmeg is applied to the entire body, including the face and allowed to completely dry.
The Balinese Ritual finishes with a warming Balinese Spice Milk Bath, rich in full cream milk, spicy essential oils, mineral salts and Crystal ION 120. Fresh flower petals (mandi su su) are added to the bath to help relieve muscular tension, detoxify and softens the skin.
